NATIVE

Habit: Plant spreading-hairy, rarely strigose or glandular. 

Leaf: terminal leaflet < 90 mm, narrowly ovate; lateral leaflets generally large. 

Flower: hypanthium 2.5--4.5 mm; sepal tips in bud free, conspicuous; petals 4.5--7 mm, generally yellow. 

Ecology: Sandy flats, creosote-bush scrub; 

Elevation: -70--300 m. 

Bioregional Distribution: PR, DSon (Imperial Co.); 

Distribution Outside California: northern Baja California. 

Flowering Time: Feb--Apr 

Note: Intergrades with Chylismia claviformis subsp. aurantiaca

Synonyms: Camissonia claviformis (Torr. & Frém.) P.H. Raven subsp. peirsonii (Munz) P.H. Raven; Oenothera claviformis Torr. & Frém. subsp. peirsonii (Munz) P.H. Raven;
