Annual

Stem 5–40 cm; hairs minute, glandular

Leaf 5–55 mm, thread-like, nearly glabrous to woolly, entire or 2-lobed near base

Flower: corolla funnel-shaped, bilateral from unequal sinuses, tube 5–6 mm, blue or yellow, throat yellow, lobes 5–10 mm, bright blue; stamens attached in lower throat or upper tube, equal, exserted, generally extended beyond corolla lobes

Ecology: Many communities

Elevation: 700–2700 m.  

Bioregional distribution: s California Floristic Province, w Desert 

Flowering time: Jun–Aug
