Leaf 10–50 mm; lobes generally 2–16, glabrous to woolly

Flower: corolla funnel-shaped, blue or white, tube 15–35 mm, lobes 5–15 mm; stamens equal, attached in throat or upper tube, excerpted

Ecology: Dunes, dry riverbeds, open slopes

Elevation: 0–2900 m.  

Bioregional distribution: s Sierra Nevada, s Central Coast, South Coast Ranges, Southwestern California, East of Sierra Nevada, w Mojave Desert  

Distribution outside California: Baja California
