Habit: Plant 10--40 cm. 

Inflorescence: pedicel 5--10 mm. 

Flower: lower corolla lip maroon-spotted on swollen base and limb, lobed to within 6--8 mm of swollen base. 

Fruit: 10--12 mm. 

Ecology: Gravelly or sandy desert slopes, washes; 

Elevation: < 1250 m. 

Bioregional Distribution: D (exc Inyo Co.); 

Distribution Outside California: southern Nevada, western Arizona, northwestern Mexico.
