NATIVE

Flower: corolla 10--12 mm, glabrous, lateral sinuses +- = upper, lower lip blue with central white area including 2 yellow spots generally alternate 2--3 purple spots near throat; anthers included to +- exserted, < 45° to filaments; ovary glabrous to minutely spiny-scabrous, 2-chambered, placentas axile. 

Fruit: 18--60 mm, tardily dehiscent, lateral walls tough, lines not translucent. 

Seed: with longitudinal lines. 

Ecology: Uncommon. Vernal pools; 

Elevation: < 200 m (GV), 610--655 m (PR), 1400--1600 m (WTR). 

Bioregional Distribution: GV, PR (Santa Rosa Plateau, Riverside Co.), n WTR. 

Flowering Time: Mar--May 

Note: Plants in PR, WTR (fruit < 30 mm, nectar guides +- unusual) possibly distinct.
