Leaf 2.5–10 cm, 7–25 mm wide (3–8 X longer than wide), tip acute, margin minutely toothed

Flower: petals 2–3 cm

Fruit 5–10 cm

Seed 2–2.5 mm

Ecology: Dry slopes, washes, especially recent burns

Elevation: < 1800 m.  

Bioregional distribution: s Northwestern California, Cascade Range Foothills, Sierra Nevada Foothills, Central Western California, Southwestern California 

Distribution outside California: n Baja California
