Plant erect, < 4 m, thorny
Stem: twigs round, gray-glaucous, puberulent, becoming glaucous
Leaves alternate, evergreen, < 4 cm; stipules deciduous; petiole 2–3 mm; blade ovate to elliptic-oblong, 3-ribbed from base, tip acute to obtuse, margin entire to minutely serrate, glandular or not, both surfaces gray-glaucous, glabrous to puberulent
Inflorescence generally raceme-like, < 11 cm; clusters stalked
Flower pale blue to white
Fruit < 6 mm, sticky, 3-lobed, depressed at top; valve crests 0
Ecology: Dry, rocky or sandy slopes
Elevation: < 1800 m.
