Annual

Stem 5–30 cm

Leaf 5–55 mm; lobes 2–6, nearly glabrous to woolly

Flower: corolla generally bilateral, tube 4–9 mm, blue or yellow, throat generally yellow, lobes 4–8 mm, light to dark blue; stamens attached in lower throat or upper tube, unequal, bent toward lower corolla lip, excerpted

Ecology: Open areas in sandy soils

Elevation: < 1800 m.  

Bioregional distribution: White and Inyo Mountains, Desert 

Distribution outside California: to Nevada, Utah, Arizona

Flowering time: Apr–Jun
